I have been on a prop hunt these past few weeks. In other words thee old light bulb went off in my head and just love the great new things that photographers use for their wee one's.
I am the type that always looks into the future and well my dream is to have a studio and to have a studio you need props.Right? I have gathered a few and little Maddies mom Vanessa (my #1 fan) lent me her angel for an hour to try the new props. This session was awsome, and was tricky because Bryson my little guy came home and was in love with Maddie.. He couldn't keep his boy mitts off of her. It was too cute!

Sandy had contacted me to set up a photo session with her grandchildren and their doggy. It was a fun session, and at the end of it.. we where all surprised by a dog that just happened to show up and was looking to play.

You might remember this couple from Febuary. They had contacted me to photograph their wedding that was in a weeks time. It was a very small service with their parents, grandmothers and a few close friends. They had gotten hitched sooner than expected due to some unexpected circumstances.. so when their original big day arrived July 18th they wrote up some very sweet and tear jerking vows for each other. They had everything take place at the art gallery in Hamilton and man was that place amazing... and their theme was Christmas in July. Very cute to see snowman, Christmas tree's and their cake was amazing!

You may remember these love birds from a few months ago.. I had photographed their e-session and from that point I knew these two where going to be FUN!
I had a blast photographing their day! I think what helped was that they are a very easy going and so much in love couple! Their big day took place in Grimsby than we later on travelled to Vineland to kick off the reception. Everything was so beautiful and Jenn looked amazing.. Steve well he cleans up well.

Reese & Nacho

Reese and her adorable puppy came for a photo shoot on Thursday. These two where so cute together! Kacey who is Reese's mom, told me that Reese had just come in 1st place for her horse back riding, which was very exciting..and way to go Reese. After the shoot I took them into the barn to see some of the horses here and the adorable Honey who is the dwarf mini horse. Nacho made a few horse friends as well.. I was very shocked to see that he didn't even bark.

Canada Day at ZOOZ

This past Wednesday was Canada Day. Seeing Evan and I both had the day off we thought that we would spend some family time and take Bryson to Zooz. The day couldn't have been more perfect! The sun was out and it wasn't hot which made it a perfect day. Where we live there is a barn in the backyard just about with some horses, goats, pigs and bunnies so it was nice to have him see many more animals... and he had a blast.

A beautiful tiger. By the time we got to that section most of the tiger's and other animals that would eat us for lunch where too hot and just relaxed in the shade.

The giraffe another amazing animal. I never really understood the reason why people would want such a large animal or the print as decor.. until I saw them in person. The height, shape and color of these animals made me adore them so much, and I can see why people like them as their decor.

The Kangaroo.. I love the uniqueness of them. They have such the cutest face and I give the mother's tons of credit for lugging their young in their pouch... I could never do it.At the end of our zooz trip we made a stop at the park and the giant sand pit. Bryson shoveled up some sand and put it in the wheel barrel all by himself.

We eneded our family day heading over to my nanny's house where they had a little BBQ. Here are a few shots of Bryson enjoying some ice cream.

Chilango & Julia

Yesterday Evan and I had the pleasure of working with Chilly and Julia on their special day! We started off taking getting ready shots at Four Points in Thorold than went to Hernder for their beautiful ceremony and reception.
As hot as it was out there, we captured some great images, these two and their bridal party did an awsome job working it.
Evan and I wish you both nothing but many years filled with love, health and happiness.

It's offical we tied the knot

This past Saturday Evan and I tied the knot. It had to be one of the most amazing days that I have ever had. Planning wasn't always easy and seemed like it took forever to get here. But once it was here it was gone in a flash, now I really see what my bride's go through when they are doing their planning. For my clients weddings I like to blend in but when I was on the other end of that lens everything was so different.

I have put my business and it's needs on hold for a while so I can put my focus into my clients and well the wedding. Now that it Evan and I are finally married I will be doing a lot of changes.. such as a new business name, marketing and mainly a fancy website YAY I am so excited.
So keep your eyes peeled for the next month or two for the new and fun changes that will be happening.

I met Leslie many moons ago, and for the past few years she's been my amazing hair dresser and friend. Cory & Jessica- Married!

Cory and Jessica tied the knot this past Saturday. It was such a beautiful day for a beautiful couple. I have been working with them for over a year, and each time I see them I have a blast! These two people are a fine example on why I love doing what I do so much. There is nothing greater than working with a couple that you can click right away with, have fun and be yourself. I am so in love with their photo's and I know Cory will be in his glory when he see's one of his images on the website.. Yes Cory the front :) I had their engagement picture on the front of my website for a while and he was so proud..so through out the day he kept telling me " This one right here Ash is the website shot!" I also can not be more proud of Evan, he did such an amazing job as well. He comes up with some great idea's and works with the bridal party while I am off working with the couple or vise versa. I was so happy to see how much his work has been improving and the great images that he captured. Here are a few images from their special day. One of the members from my mommy and me group.. (Yes folks I am in a mommy and me group, which I really should start attending more often) contacted me to have a session with her adorable little ones Jacob and Lauren. I woke up that morning and thinking YES.. Its nice and sunny out, seeing it was raining a for a few days before. Both of them where a bit shy at first, but they came around and when the local stray cat came over to see the knew people in his hood, they loved him up and the smiles came out. Now I know why we keep feeding that cat :) Here are a few shots from their session.

Jenn & Steve: E-Session

One of my wedding couples came out the other day for an awsome e-session. I loved just about every photo in their collection.. so it was so hard to narrow down my favorite.
These two love birds are so much in love.. I would ask them to stand or sit somewhere and I turn on my camera and the moment shot was always right there. Jenn afterwards told me she wasn't to sure what to expect, because they never had a e-session before and was a bit nervous. They both had a great time and loved their photo's. They brought along there baby Maggie who is a lab. She was a great sport for getting a few photo's taken, but was more interested in running around in the wind and jumping in the puddles.
I can not wait until their wedding in July!

A day with Bryson & Tom

I tell you I can believe what a difference a year makes. This time last year Bryson was just sitting in the grass.. and not moving. Now he's up and running here, there and just about every where.

Last week our wedding photographer and friend came on by to show me a few things. With that being said we needed a model.. and well Bryson had his schedule free I offered him to hang around with mommy and Tom to get some photo's taken. I had a blast, when Bryson had enough of our camera's he went for his beauty sleep. I am not going to lie.. it has to be one of my favorite time of the day. I had the pleasure of doing some cool shots with Jen and her family. She request me to take picture's of her little girl, but wanted some family shots done.. okay it can be done. But she mentioned that she wanted them done in their superman capes. Now how cool is that? When setting up my clients sessions, I always mention to them that they are more than welcome to bring in their own "Props" something that means a lot to their child, or granny hand made a special blanket. I find that it's those small personal touches really make a family shot stand out.

If you go scroll down a bit you will find a past client named Vanessa. She booked a Easter shoot with her two adorable children Owen & Maddie. A few weeks later she had asked me to book her in for a e-session as she and her future hubby will be getting hitched June 27th 2009.

Well after all of Vanessa's sessions, one of her good friend Jessica contacted me to do a session with her and her family. Henri is the baby of the family... he was laughing and full of smiles for myself and the camera! I love it when you just look at a child and they just smile. Jacob is the big brother, he is a cutie and such a little man. One point during the shoot, there was a caretaker mowing the lawn and that's all he wanted to do.. was watch him cut the grass. I tell you, if I was brave enough to go and ask him if Jacob could get some shots taken in the lawn mower I would have. I had a great time with the Lutomski clan.. you can see the love and bond of the family during the photo session and I was so happy to see that I captured some of their family moments.

Hey everyone, I must tell you all that I am so sorry about not being able to keep up with my blog.
A few weeks ago I had a few shoots in one week,so I was putting in orders, editing and all of that fun stuff and with my wedding in 20 more days it's been keeping me pretty busy.

I am just going to put up a few updates, please keep in mind, that I do have a facebook group page which gets updated faster than this here blog. After the wedding my focus and energy will be put back into my work to build and improve my business :) YAY.

I had another shoot right after Zach's with Melissa's children, who are all so adorable.
The shoot went great! Melissa had a great time hanging out with Bryson and picking me some dandelions, than afterwards the kids noticed Billy the goat wandering around.. so I told them that after the picture's I would take them into the barn. Their cute little faces lite up once they saw all of the animals in there. Bryson of course went around showing them how to poke your fingers into the rabbit cages lol.. I will be photographing Laura's daughter's 1st communion picture's later on this month, so I am very excited about that. It will be my first, and Melissa loved it out here so she wanted to do it out here.

Zachary

My nephew Zachary's 3rd birthday is just around the corner. My step sister has been getting Zachary's yearly birthday picture's with me since last year.. yes I know it has only been a year, but I think it helps that once your child has established a bond with your photographer they get to know them and feel more at ease with them.. as to having a different photographer each time. Even though I do see Zachary about once a week and he is my nephew, I love it when my clients come back and it allows me to see their children grow and boy do they change so much.

Zachary and Keisha came by today for some photo's. I think Zach wanted to play around a lot more than have his photo taken for his mom and auntie Ashley :D but in the end we did manage to get some great shots of Zach

Sammy

This past Saturday I went to Botanical Gardens to photograph Sammy. When I first laid eye's on him, I thought of my brother Chris. When my brother was younger he had the blond hair and curls. My mom always told Chris who hated his curls, that he will be a ladies man when he gets older because of them.

Sammy was so fun, although he just wanted to run around and explore compared to getting his picture taken.. which I don't think many 3 year olds do, we did manage to capture some great shots of him.. and a few with mom and dad. Here are a few picture's from their session.

Animal & Home talk...

Some of you may know that where I live the neighbours have a barn. My neighbour/friend Jen is a horse nutt! Over the past 2 year I have never met anyone who knew so much about horse's and her love for them shows each day. She is out there in the blizzards, humid and rainy weather to care for them... and how they respond to her is amazing to see. She has so much knowledge about horses that I think she could write a good 20 to 30 books about them :)
Jen does not only have horses, but she has a pig named Tilly, a goat named Billy who thinks he is a horse and tries to be the boss, a shoat is what we call Nellie who follows just about anyone anywhere and is 1/2 sheep and 1/2 goat... But the newest one is Honey who is the cutest dwarf pony EVER!
I am a outdoors person.. I could live out there when the weather is right, and when we moved here in Port Robinson I knew we where going to be here for a long time. I mean what more can you ask for when you see the ships come through the canal from your kitchen or livingroom windows, take a few steps and your onto some walking or biking trails, or go to your backyard and see horse's play around, goats running around the yards, and a dwarf pony being walked around town! This is what we get to experience every day.
I think what I love the most is the fact that we can raise Bryson out here where there is room to roam and most importantly.. give him the knowldge to see different kinds of animals everyday and learn to respect them as if they where people like us.

I think that is it for now.. in the near future I do plan on using Honey for some wonderful children photographs.. so if you are interested just let me know :)

Vanessa & Ryan- e-session

Today I had an awsome engagement session with Ryan and Vanessa. They are such a cute couple. Vanessa came here a few weeks ago to get their adorable children photo's taken for Easter, from than to now we have been chatting on facebook, talking about wedding plans. Ryan and Vanessa will be getting hitched a week after Evan and I. They wanted to get married by Elvis in Las Vages, but they had a change of plans and will be bringing Vagas to them on June 27 2009.
I had a great time with you both, sadly after our shoot someone broke into their car and stole Vanessa's purse with her life, Ryans ring and more. Make's you really think about what our children will be facing when they hit our age and wonder if times like these will only get better or worse for them. People have balls.. smashing a window in braud daylight, parking lot with people and employee's of the place.
I hope you guys get everything back... but most of all I wish you both many years of happieness.

I have joined a group for photographers in the Niagara area a few months ago. It's an awsome and very knowledgeable group! We work and learn from one and other, which is awsome for myself and I am sure others who have either been in the business for some time or like myself who look up to those photographers and can take it all in and learn. Photography a few years ago was always about beating the person next to you.. yes we all want business and to keep busy like the others, but at the same time it's great to find a great group of people who don't mind helping and teaching other photographers. Plus its akways nice to talk with other photographers about photography :)

We met up downdown St Catharines.. this would be my first group shooting with a few different modles. I asked one of my best friend Jennie to come on out and pose for a few shots, and Leah my soon to be sister in law to work her magic with make up. Leah is still a student at Niagara for Make up, Nails and that sort of stuff. So thought it would be awsome to have fun and work outside of the normal make up jobs and spice up her portfolio for clients.

I managed to find a old friend on facebook. We use to work together many many years ago, it was my 1st job at East Side Mario's and I was about 15 at the time. I remember her mom breeding these beautiful kittens, and heading to the beach with D and some of her friends a few times. Over the years we all went our own ways, and she had a little guy who is a few months older than Bryson. She wanted to get some Easter picture's of Devyn so I met them at Merrit Island in Welland and brought Evan and Bryson along so the boys could hang out and play and Evan could watch Bryson.
It was great seeing her again after all of these years!

It was a week of maternity sessions. Tammy contacted me to photograph some maternity and family shots for her. During the session you can see her two older children so pumped about being a big brother & sister.. which is great for mommy when she needs some help :)
About 2 weeks after her session I was getting ready to drop off her package, when she sent me an email letting me know that they had their new bundle of joy! We had some great timing for the session and captured the moments just before the baby arrived. Congrat to Tammy and her wonderful family.

Sean and Felice= I Do

Felice and Sean called me up to do shoot their 1st wedding or number 2. I was more than happy to do so and honored that they called and asked me. Their second wedding will take place in July which will be a lot warmer. Portrait parties are like tupperware parties, and are super fun when you and a bunch of your girlfriends want to have a night in,have a glass of wine or two and get your portraits taken with all of your friends.

I am a bit late on the Christmas wishes. It's been a little crazy going from home to home and spending lots of time with loved ones. Although my Christmas has 2 more very busy days left to go.
This morning I woke up, and of course the boys where still sleeping.. Im such a kid when it comes time to Christmas. I mean the presents are okay, I love giving and seeing the expression on their faces when they open up the present. Bryson, well he is still a bit to young to really understand what is going on. But when he gets a bit older I know I will be loving the look on his little face as he opens up a gift from Santa.
What I love the most about Christmas is the family time,the food.. and watching my movie A Christmas story.. man I love that movie.

Well I will post up some pics after our Christmas events are over, and I just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas. I hope Santa was a good man to you this year.

Snow

Well folks Friday we got hit with a snow storm, just in time for Christmas.
I love the snow, but there are it's days where it looks a lot better from the inside than being out in it haha.
I think the best moments are snow for Christmas, being all cozy on the couch and watching the snow fall. Late at night everything is so peaceful and having no lights on besides the Christmas tree is awsome. If I had a fireplace you can bet that I would be sitting right in front of it sipping hot chocolate.. yummy

I have to add that I had a great laugh watching Evan try to get the car out so he could go to work. The snow plows came by just as he was digging the car out of the snow haha, so about an hr, and our neighbour's strength later Evan made it to and from work safe and sound.

Sabrina, Dave & Addison

This past Sunday I had the greatest pleasure of working with Sabrina and her family. I took Addison's birthday pictures back in September, and We have been trying to pick a date to do another session. So Sunday we all met up at the green house.
Addison has become a smart little princess over the past few months. She is too cute for words. Sabrina and her family are always great to work with.

It's amazing to see each child that I have photographed in the past, and watch them as they grow rather it has been a few months or a year later. Addison was also a great helper when it came time for mommy & daddy's photo's. I picked her up in my arms and she watched me as I took their picture. At the end of the session, she gave me a hug and a sweet little kiss. Awww.

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of working with Heidi, Chris and their adorable little boys.
On some of my shoots I bring along Evan and Bryson, that way when the session is over me and my boys can stay back for a little bit and have some family time. But also because each family that I work with they let me in and really get to know them, so I think it's only fair that I do the same.
Well as it turned out Evan use to work with Chris a few years ago, so as they had some catch up talk I took some photo's of Heidi with the boys and some individual shots of the kids.

Well as some of you may know that I have a sweet little man, who I think its entering his terrible two's early. His 1st Birthday is coming up within 2 weeks!! As a mom it saddens me but yet so thrilled that my baby is growing up. This past year has been crazy busy, educational, and a challenge on so many different levels. In 2007 I was preparing myself to raise a little one, I never did think that along the way I would have this amazing photography business, so much love and support from family, friends and clients that have shown so much support for my business since I started in March.

I think that one for the greatest things that I love the most about my business, is the fact that I can be here and watch my little one grow.. see all of his first's and be there when he gets hurt. Of course I can not forget about providing clients with images that will be cherished for a life time.

Is it important that I like you if you are going to photograph my wedding?

I feel that it is very important that you like your photographer. It comes across in your photographs if you are at ease with me. I know I am not the perfect photographer for everyone out there - I’m not trying to be. I want us to be a great fit. I do hope that if you have read this far, I am the right photographer for YOU, and if so, I would love to be a part of your big day. I look forward to hearing from you.

How much does wedding photography cost?

I detail this further on the Investment . Your wedding day will go by at a whirlwind pace. When all is said and done, your memories that you will treasure will be all wrapped up in the photographs from your special day. Not only will you look at them with fond memories over the years, but your family will also treasure them for generations. My commissions for wedding day coverage currently start at $550.00, with full album coverage starting at $1200. Please inquire for more details and to find out if I am available for your wedding day, as I take on a limited number of weddings each year. Prices are subject to change throughout the year, and are normally modified quarterly. Reserving your date now will lock you in at my current rates.

If I hire you, will you photograph my wedding?

That question may sound redundant, but trust me - it is something you should ask. I’ve actually heard that there are photographers out there that have a salesperson that handles the meetings for them, or that will have you meet with one photographer, but someone else shows up to shoot your wedding.

I don’t like that approach, and I would never do that. My name is on the figurative door because I am at every single wedding that I book. I feel it is very, very important to have a special relationship with your photographer so that they can effectively capture your wedding day. Evan is my permanent second photographer and comes to all of them too, unless he isn’t available due to work (she still has a 9-5 day job, while I am a full time photographer) or other personal commitments, which we would inform a client about well in advance if they ever came up.

How many weddings do you photograph a year?

We are available for approximately 20-25 weddings per year. We feel that this is the best fit for us, as it allows us to give all of our clients the best service possible. We normally book only one event per weekend.

If my package includes the DVD of high-resolution images, why should I buy prints from you?

Years ago, photographers used to feel it was critical that they control your photographs. Times have changed. I want you to have them.

However, there is something to be said for having me print your photographs. Then I can control how the images come out, because my monitors are calibrated for my lab. My prints are heirloom quality, and printed on papers only available to professionals. Much like the old photographers used to do it, we take your proofs and do additional digital work to them to make them perfect before they go off to print. We tweak the colors, and just make them pretty before we send them off.

When it comes to getting prints from me, my lab is a professional lab, that only prints for professional photographers. I work closely with them, printing a high volume each year. I have worked to make sure that photographs look the same way on our screen* as they do when our lab prints them. We know them, and we trust them. T

How many photographs do you take at a wedding?

I present our clients, on average, with approximately 100 proofed photos per hour that we are shooting. On a side note,I have found that on average, for every hour that we shoot, there is 2-3 hours of editing involved in the post-processing end of things.

Why does every wedding package include an engagement session?

It is a great chance for us to spend time together and take beautiful photographs. Photographs that you will love, that are about your love, and in the process you’ll hopefully love me a bit too in the end. I get to learn how you are in front of the camera. I get to figure out what makes you laugh, so I can use it on the day of your wedding to put you at ease if I need to. I also get to learn if you have a “good side” when it comes to pictures.

When is the best time to take our engagement photos?

I recommend taking them 2-3 months before your wedding day, and even earlier if you would like to use them for Save the Date cards to send out. (I do offer Save the Date cards for sale, if you would like me to assist you with the design!) If you would prefer to do them closer to the wedding date, that is also an option if you prefer to wait for the seasons to change or if you have a special time of year or event that has meaning for the two of you. If you would like to create an engagement album to use as a guest book, having a 2-3 month lead time works well to get the book made.

Where will you photograph our engagement session?

This is completely up to you! What parts of town do you like to visit? Are you a nature person or an urban person? Which style of photography do you prefer - lots of trees and natural elements, or lots of buildings and that sort of thing? Is there a part of the city where you go frequently on dates, where you went for your first date, where the proposal took place? All of these can be fun locations for a shoot. The choice is up to you!

How much time should we allow for our session?

Most of my sessions involve between 1-2 hours of shooting, so be sure to allow plenty of time. If you are available for it.

What time of day is best for our session?

Have you ever noticed the lovely warm glow that the sky gets about an hour before sunset? I prefer to start shooting about one and a half or two hours before the sunset set to take advantage of that. Late afternoon in the winter, or early evening in the summer, work best. High noon, when the sign is harsh and too bright is not a good time for your session. Depending on the style of photography that we are going for, evening shots may also be a good option.

What should we wear for our engagement session?

I suggest that you wear complimentary colors, although they do not need to match exactly. You don’t dress like twins the rest of the time, so don’t feel like you have to dress like them for these photos. I do recommend that your colors harmonize well together, and are similar in “tone” - both light, both dark, but not one wearing dark rich red and the other wearing a pastel green.

When you photograph a wedding, how long do you need for the formal photographs?

Lets be honest here - no one likes taking the formal photographs. You know, the group shots with the bride and groom and all the family members? But I feel they are a valuable historical reference, and they should be taken. So we do them - fast. Looking back at the weddings from this year, our average was 20-30 minutes. The amount of time we spend depends on what the bride & groom want, and also if we are allowing family members to take photos at the same time. Again, up to the bride & groom if I do that - I will be happy to stop them if you want us to be super fast, or I will take it slow if you want to let them get shots too after I take my shot.

If you have a cocktail hour planned and are in no rush to get to the reception and want to get more creative, I am happy to take a larger variety of photographs. Really though, by the time the ceremony is over, most people just want to get to the party to celebrate. I want to do my part to get you there quickly.

When do you take artistic photos of the couple alone?

Normally after all of the formals with the family and wedding party are all said and done. We would go off and take a few picture’s with just the two of you. Or if you wanted to hit up the party for a bit, than as the guests are enjoying themselves we can sneek off for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Our wedding is over; what happens next?

This question is going to take a little bit of work to answer properly - think of this as the initial placeholder, and it may even develop into a page of its own. Here is the core information though.

After the wedding, I will back up all of the wedding photographs as outlined above.
Within 1-2 weeks, your proofs will be online for you to review at the link listed I emailed you. You are encouraged to invite family & friends to have a look at your gallery.
Once the proofs are online, we ask that you choose your Favorites that you would like to see us include in your wedding album.
Once your album layout is finalized, it will be sent to the printers & album maker and the book will be created. The time for the book to be made varies. You will be informed of the status as we are informed by them.
When your album arrives, we will meet so I can deliver it, or I will send it to you via UPS if you are not local.
You live happily ever after, you refer your friends when they are getting married (I give referral gifts of prints and other goodies!) and you call me again when you decide you would like to have a lifestyle session done with your family!

Hi Everyone,
For those of you who I have done some family photo session with down below will be a link to view your samples.
I am sorry to all of you for not blogging this past week, but it's been so crazy. I had 3 weddings this week, trying to catch up with my editing at the same time take care of my little guy... So that is why I am here at 3am :D

Just a few things:
**Tonight A.K.A Friday was my last wedding. I have to send out a big thank you to my friend Larissa, for coming along with me to be my second shooter. Evan had to work, and could not get the time off. LARISSA you are a life saver, and I will love you forever :D

**My family sessions will be wrapping up for the year as well, seeing it's too cold out. However if you and your family are brave enough for the cold.. just give me a shout through email or phone and I will be more than happy to take some winter fun photo's.
With that being said, I have the next few weekends booked up I can try and squeeze some people in but will continue to shoot until mid Nov.

** Through out the winter I will be passing my time go over my sample work, editing on some more photo's with a little goodies and printing. I am hoping to be in a bridal show after my wedding in June '09, so would like to start getting some fresh stuff up.

Jenn + Sean=Married

The day couldn't have turned out any more perfect for this beautiful couple. We captured a ton of amazing shots at several locations which is awsome.. Jenn, Sean and their wedding party where great!
The day began with Jenn arriving to the church in Port.. As each second past by she'd kept asking "Is it time?" he dad would respond with " No need to rush.. make him wait" But once she walked down the isle I saw some tears flow down her face.. tears of love and happiness. At that point I got some goose bumps. These two are such a sweet and cute couple... of course very fun. Through out our day there was tons of laughter from everyone around.
Evan and I want to thank you both for giving us the pleasure of being there and watching you love and day unfold. We both wish you guys tons of love and happiness for the rest of your lives. I can picture you two at 80 something years old being that really old cute couple still so much in love..

Today I had the pleasure of meeting Patricia and her little one Jackson.. he is just too cute!
The photo session started out a little ruff.. but Jackson's only 2 months old, and babies time to shine are when they are good and ready. Doesn't matter on what mommy wants :) But little Jackson warmed up and we would good to go. From time to time I would think about the time when I had Amanda come to the house and get picture's of Bryson when he was a week or two old. Brought back some memories, and than you realize that children grow up so darn fast, and you have to enjoy every moment with them.
After the shoot, I took them around the barn to see Tilly and a few other horses and of course Billy the goat.. which Patricia really enjoyed. It was so great working with them both today, and would be so happy to be able to do the family session when her hubby to be comes back to town. Here are a few pictures from today.. Today I did a photo session for Jessica and her family. The weather was a tad on the chilly side.. but this brave and beautiful family stuck to it and enjoyed a great day with one and other.
Jessica's little ones where so cute, and her son.. such an awsome little boy to photograph! and of course I can not forget about her daughter who half way threw the photo's thought it was time to turn on her charm for the camera. It was so cute.. she would just sit there with a big smile on her face saying "Cheese" and I would take people in and out of the photo's and she would not move. Tooo cute.

Deidre + Scott = Hitched

Saturday Evan and I had a great time photographing Deidre & Scott's wedding. Over 10 years together Deidre and Scott finally tied the knot.My sister had sent her over to me and mentioned that her friend was getting married and needed a photographer.. I remember the 1st time I spoke with D. Over the phone our conversation lasted at least an hour.. and from there we became facebook friends and chatted about the photography she wanted to capture on her day.. " just have fun with us.. get the fun poses". Deidre has become a great supporter and fan of my work. A few months ago she asked me to do some family picture's and after that day and speaking with her about her wedding I knew it was going to be a blast working for them.

They are a very cute couple.. so happy and so much in love. Their little guy well not so little is a spitting image of his daddy, and very well mannered for his age.Days leading up to the wedding d. wasn't very nervous.. I think all she had on her mind was some mess up's that do occur before the wedding, and her hot men New Kids concert that she was going to after the wedding.
When the day finally came, I got to Deidre's house and there she was.. hair all done up and in a t-shirt with less than an hour to get married.. Once she put on her beautiful dress she sparkled. Her and I went off and took some bridal shots as the other girls where getting ready, and in between shots, or moments of getting ready tears of joy would flow.
Moments with clients like this give me goose bumps! As I watch the brides wipe the tears away, i sit back and just think about how special their day is, and that I am the luckiest photographer to be apart of their day and to witness their love for each other. I also get these goose bumps during the vows. Speaking of vows.. Deidre was choking on hers.. but as everyone including herself laughed it off I took a moment and looked at Greg their son.. standing by his dad.. and holding back the tears. I know that he was so happy that his mommy and daddy where finally becoming one. Some people say that all marriage is just a piece of paper showing that they are married.. but I think when children are involved it's so much more than that, and you can surely see it in Greg! But by the middle of the night all Greg wanted was cake lol.
Once again Evan and I had a great time sharing your day with you and Scott. I know inside Evan is loving that picture you wanted of him wearing your tiara as well :)

Evan has a big Best Buy addiction.. kinda of like my walmart addiction- but mine is so much cheaper than his :)
So after the photo session with some family members, we headed off to Best Buy.. after browsing through the store for like a solid hour... maybe 2 who knows, Evan approuched me and wanted to buy this ipod touch.. mm ok. I have no clue what it is.. just that its another ipod. So he said I could grab a few things and he would get that.. umm ok, so I picked out an 8gb memory card ( any spare cash I put towards my gear) and than ahhh I found the 5th season to One Tree Hill :) I was very upset when they took it off the t.v and replaced it with ER.. that was my 4:30 show during the day.. So we start making our way to my nans.. and he tells me that he really bought it for me..mmm yeah right.. Since we bought I think I touched it a whole 3 times.. haha you really got to love it when a man tells you that he bought something for themselves.. then it's really for you.. but you know girls that really it's just a nice way of them saying " thanks hun.. you will never be touching MY new toy!" lol I give him a few weeks and he will get bored of it than it will be mine again :)
Oh yes I started to watch the One Tree Hill and have 2 more disks to watch.. I was just happy watching my show all night til 4am minus Evan cutting in and out and asking what was going on, etc etc

Family

Family has always been important in my life. To me personally they are the ones who are there to pick you up, stand by you when no one else will, love and support anything that you do in life. These are all things that I want to instill in my son. When I look back at the most happiest moments from my childhood and even now- it was when you go and do things as a family. So with that being said I come from a big family.. so big that they make up about 80% of my guest list for my wedding.. the other 10% is Evans family- he come's from a small one and the other 10% is friends..
Before the rain came in for the entire day and night, Evan, Bryson and I went up to Niagara On The Lake to do a photo session with my one sister, her son, his father and my dad and step mom. We got some great shots, I was super happy with the amount of time Zach put up with me and my camera in his face :) But all in all it was a great day! I think that a picture speaks a thousand words, and when you work with a family that is as close as we are it make's the photos so much more, and speak high volumes. The Pendykoski Family

The weather turned out to be an awsome day for the Pendykoski family to get their family photo's taken. I had a great time photographing them and their sweet little Jayla who is such a doll. I always love photographing families, when we have something in common like our little ones, its so nice to share tips, and stories. When I shoot weddings I see the love that the couple have for one and another, when I photograph families I get to see and capture how their love for each other blossomed a little one that has both of them mold into 1 little person. Also to see how precious their child is to them. With Avery and her husband you can see how much they love Jayla, also its so great to see the dad's be there and help out mommy as much as possible. Daddy was very helpful, and when he was holding his little angel you can see the love for her twinkle from his eyes. It was so cute. Here are some sneek peek photo's from today.. As some of you may know.. I am engaged to the love of my life Evan.Together we share the greatest joy in each of our lives our handsome little 9 month old son Bryson. Our story is for sure a special one.. let just say that life has a funny way of happening and being in the right spot at the right time is truly a blessing! I do think that fate does live amoung us all, at different periods in life you just have to open your eye's to what is around you.
Over the past year almost 2 in March both Evan and I have over come so many things together -that some would do in a year after marriage. I honestly think that what we have accomplished together and do each day makes our relationship as strong as it is, and our love for one and other grow stronger.
Ok so enough with my little mushy stuff I could sit here for days writing about how much I love Evan and the times that we have shared together, and of course the times we will share together as husband and wife. Our parents threw us an awsome engagement party.. even tho we have been engaged since December the weather was too cold.. and over the summer I got so busy with my weddings that we had no time to celebrate until today.I personally wanted to have one because it would give an excuse to have a party.. but mainly to have our families and wedding party mingle with one and other. The weather started out so horrible-nothing but yucky rain. Than as the time counted down to PARTY time, the sun started to shine, and we all hung out on the deck or where ever there was room to roam. Everyone had a blast, and raved about the tenderness of my mom's roast beef and her gravy - she does make a mean gravy. Here is Evan and I some point at the party. I would have taken more pic's... but it was our day.. not a work day for Ashley :) so I chatted it up, and enjoyed the day like a bride to be.
Thanks to my soon to be in laws and my mom for everything... Also thanks to everyone that came and couldn't make it for all of your love and support through out our relationship.Can not wait til June 20 2009 to be Mrs Evan Shore.

Addison's 1st Birthday!

Today I had the honor to photograph Addison's 1st Birthday.Besides the rain moments here and there, the party was a blast. This was a party meant for a princess.. and Addison was a perfect princess all decked out in her beautiful pink 1st Birthday dress.The decor was a pink theme.. and mom made a special backdrop just for the cake and present photo's... Great Job Mom! I have to say that the last one has to be my top fav.. with the pink in the background and her bright baby blues all lite up, and of course they way Addison has her little arms and hands.. a true model this one is.. I had a great time, and thank you Sabrina and Dan once again. Happy Birthday Addison!!!

Long Weekend

On the long weekend Evan, Bryson and I went up to Barrie to visit my mom, Troy, my sister Becca and sweet handsom nephew Kayden.
On our last day my mom and sister wanted to capture some lasting moments at a park.. I have no idea on what it was called.. I guess it's pretty common for newly weds to head there for their wedding formals.. and after being there I can see why. Man I wished that park was here for my own photo's.

Kerry Ann & David's Wedding

Evan and I had a fantastic day being the photographers for Kerry Ann & Davids wedding. Everything was perfect mainly the couple! It was a very hot one mind you but threw all of the sweat doing the outdoor photographs, I had a blast. Through out the evening I looked around and was so amazed by everything, Kerry Anns hard work planing, preparing for this day really shined threw. You did an awsome job Kerry Ann! They where surrounded my many loved ones... a cousin who came all the way from Ireland who was the main priest at the ceremony.. and brought the most precious gift of all with him. .. I bet you are all dying to know......... He brought them the pope's blessing of the marriage. With it came with a picture of the pope, framed had their names, wedding date, and signature of the pope. Changes

As memories by ashley is a new photography business that started back in March, I am still trying to find myself. When I say that I mean it as in the photography business world. Now that my photography is taking off, I need to create an identity that makes myself and business stand out from all of the others.
So with that being said, you may come on this blog or on my website and see small changes or drastic ones. I am always looking to improve my business and finding things that fit can be a tough and time consuming at times. So far with this new lay out and the one on the website I am very happy with and think I will stick with it, until it's time to upgrade certin things.
I guess with me wanting everything and having to learn that at somethings, it takes time to get where you want to be. I know a few photographers that do inspire me and help myself and business grow.Everyone has to start somewhere and I tell ya, I look back and think about from where I was in March to now I am so happy with the progress of my business, and see great things coming from it. I have so many wonderful and support family, friends and clients that encourage me each day.

The Wedding Of Shelly & Tony

This past weekend Evan and I had a wonderful experience photographing the wedding of Shelley and Tony.
The wedding took place in Vineland, and was such a beautiful day for it. For once we had no rain. I have to say that this wedding had me in as much tears as the guests. It was a small wedding with their children and a few close friends. It was so amazing to see how much they truly love each other and their children. During the vow's Tony claimed his love for Shelley, his children and her children.. gosh I am getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Tony was telling me that the week leading up to the wedding Shelley had a surprise for each day... and on the wedding day it happened to be a limo.
Shelley arrived with nothing but smiles and excitement.. I tell ya it's an amazing feeling that you get when you are there to capture those special moments of LOVE.
I am so great full that Shelley and Tony had let us in on their special day, it will be one wedding that I will never forget.
I hope you both are enjoying yourselves in Cuba :)

I took my little guy Bryson out for some photo's the other day. Everyone keeps telling me that I should get him into some sort of modeling. So I thought about it, and thought it wouldn't hurt to start a portfolio of him. Here are a few moments that we captured outside.. the session didn't last too long due to the darn mosquito's eating us alive.

As some of you may already know, I host a photo day every once in a while. I think it's a great way for people to come out get some updated portraits done of their family, children or even pets, with out it costing an arm and a leg.
So this past Saturday I hosted a photo day, and we managed to get a few people in due to the lack of sun and down pour of rain.. it wasn't the best day for it. What's with the month of August??

Hellen & Joe's Wedding

Today Evan and I had the greatest honor of photographing Hellen & Joes wedding. At the start of the day the weather was so horrible. Let me tell you driving on the QEW while lightening is hitting everything but you, and the rain is pouring so hard that people are driving 40kms on the highway is pretty scary. But once we arrived the sun started to shine :) YAY.
The ceremony was very beautiful and intimate with just a few close friends and family members. They tied the knot after 20 something years together and it couldn't have been more perfect than today.
After the ceremony, we headed to the old power house resturant for the reception. Man folks that place is so amazing, very different and old looking. I loved it. So of course I had to add some pictures of it on this blog.
All in all it was an awsome day. The couple where so very nice and both looked beautiful. We wish you guys many many more happy years together and nothing but the best for your new future together. Thank you so much for letting us be apart of your day!

Photo Day

Today was my first photo day, I only ended up having 1 booking but I still had a great time! plus the weather turned out to be awful.
This afternoon I had a family of 3, the little guy was 9 weeks old and was so freaking adorable. Seeing him brought so much memories of my little Bryson when he was that young. So anyways back to the photo day.. These photographs where extra special to Matt & Sonja because they don't really have any pictures of the baby. So here are a few shots of them and the wee one..

.Ok so I posted more than a few... I couldn't help myself. I had a great time once again, and was so lucky to be the one to photograph their 1st family memories.

Sanel & Alisa - July 5th 2008
I had such a great time and learned so much from their wedding, also I think it was the largest wedding that I photograph. Sanel and Alisa shinned threw out the day, and where surrounded my many close family and friends. I don't think I have ever eaten so much in one day.. the food was amazing!

Matt & Donna- May 31st 2008
This couple will always have a special place in my heart.. They where my very first couple to ever book. With that it gave me so much confidence to get out there and get myself known. Their wedding day had some unexpected curves and turns.. such as our car breaking down twice... the limo driver ** curse the limo man** was so late poor Donna was worried that Matt would think that she changed her mind and called the wedding off. Than it rained.. If Donna had a hat to collect all of the change each time she had hear the words " its good luck if it rains on your wedding day" All in all it was a fantastic day.. and yes as you can tell she made it to the church only about 1/2 hr later than expected..

Nathan & Cindy- May 24th 2008
This was my 1st wedding to shoot on my own. I was so happy and proud with the images.. Their wedding day was awsome! The sun was shinning and sky's where so blue. Ever since I photographed their wedding I have had a ton of relatives and friends come up to me and ask if I did their wedding photography. Small world I tell ya. But once I viewed the images I knew that this was my thing and was so excited to continue my journey of photography.

I just want to thank these couples and the future ones for letting me be apart of their day! I am so blessed to have such a huge support system from everyone around me, and to have my clients trust in their day. Each wedding and couple will always hold it's own special memory in my heart.

Website re vamping

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to let you all know that I will be doing some website re vamping.
I am so lost when it comes to making things work online.. there are so many codes and what have ya.. gosh my mind is spinning already just thinking about it. Anyways I found an easy program that will help me with my site, and make it less j/k ish.
I am very excited and if it doesn't work out than it doesn't work out.. I will just have to hire someone to help me out. Which is always good and save me some time which comes very rare to me these days :)
So in time you will see some changes if you frequently stop by to check out the galleries, and what have ya.

Memories

After a nice and busy weekend from Barrie than sadly my fiance's grandfather passed away. He was such a great man, very loving, family oriented, stuborn the list could go on. Altho I have not known him as long as others I do know that he had a passion for airplanes seeing he was a pilot in the war, and he was always sending along his joke emails to Evan, loved going over to my future mother & father in laws house for dinners, and loved his little great grandson Bryson.
I have never seen a man his age accomplish so much in life, and do the things that he did like shovel his drive way after the deadly winter storm, get the camper all ready to go on a camping trip, and spend hours playing his flight stimulator.
He was also a funny man... he loved to put a smile on everyones face by cracking his latest joke, he was a very smart and bright man.
Like I mentioned before I have not known Herb all that long, but I feel so blessed to experience such a great man in my life, and I will make sure that my little guy knows what a wonderful man his great grandfather was.

His memory and love for him will always live on in our hearts and thoughts. One thing that never fades are our memories and love for those around us that have passed one.
